Hello to all our readers:
INS Headquarters has just notified the public that it has instructed the
Service Centers to now process H-1B cap cases through the filing date of
February 25, 2000. This is part of an INS strategy to keep the Service
Centers moving at approximately the same pace, so that companies in one
jurisdiction are not advantaged or disadvantaged over others.
According to the INS statement, it will continue to lurch forward from one
filing date to another in this manner until the cap is reached. February
25 is NOT necessarily the cutoff date for filings to "make it" under the
cap--it is just the date to which the INS will process at this time. Once
all the Service Centers reach that date, INS will evaluate the situation
and determine the next date to which processing will lurch.
In the meantime, INS Headquarters has disclosed that it is urging the
Service Centers to work on non-cap H-1B cases. Particular attention is
being paid to the California which has fallen behind.
In the next couple of weeks, please be on the lookout for the unveiling of
our new website. It is our hope that you will find that our new site will
be even better and easier to navigate than our current website.
Best regards,
The attorneys and staff from Szabo, Zelnick & Erickson, P.C.
